Sotelo sentenced

A man who escaped the Curry County detention center has been sentenced to ten years in prison.

26-year-old Victor Sotelo was one of eight inmates who escaped custody August of last year.

He was one of the seven who were recaptured.

Sotelo pleaded guilty to aggravated assault, aggravated battery, aggravated fleeing a law enforcement officer, child abuse, and escape from jail.

Sotelo will be serving time in the new Mexico State Penitentiary.

Currently, convicted child killer Edward Salas, the eighth inmate who escaped, still remains at large.
