Efforts to expand recycling

The Amarillo City Commission has created a 14 member environmental advisory committee. By a unanimous vote the commission has selected citizens to determine what is needed to enhance recycling and other green efforts.

The committee will have a one-year term and will work with City Director of Public Works, Michael Rice. Commissioner Brian Eades will serve as the liaison for the Committee. Primarily, the committee will evaluate and recommend financially feasible ways to grow the city's recycling program.
