Three Fires Burn in Hutchinson County; 200 Acres Charred

Three fires in the north central Panhandle region are extinguished after they threatened a residential area and forced the evacuation of a community college Thursday.

The latest one was put out just after three outside Skellytown.

Officials say that blaze charred two hundred acres.

Two others were in the Borger area between noon and one. The Rock Creek part of the city was threatened but not evacuated while Frank Phillips College was evacuated.

Officials say crews from around the region all helped fight the fires
