What Makes A Blizzard

You may be wondering what exactly constitutes a blizzard warning as opposed to a watch.  

Meteorologists at the National Weather Service say when the wind will blow 35 miles per hour or more in 24 hours, when snow is falling or blowing, and when visibility is limited to a quarter mile or less, that is when they consider a storm a blizzard.

The one on its way to the Panhandle is the first one since 2006.
