Some Amarillo employees take a pay cut

Some local employees are being asked by their compnay to take a pay cut.

Morris Communications which owns the Amarillo Globe-News and radio stations like KNGC and The Eagle, has asked employees who make less than $25,000 a year to take a five percent reduction.

Those who make more than $50,000 will have 10 percent cut.

Morris says the pay cuts are the least painful way to preserve the greatest number of jobs in this very difficult environment.
