First drug bust made on first day of new Potter County Sheriff's program

Today marks the beginning of Potter County's highway drug interdiction.

And the first car they pulled over turned into a drug bust.

Potter County deputies say they stopped a car for speeding on Eastbound I-40 near the Potter-Oldham County line.

Deputies noticed signs of criminal activity from the driver and conducted an open air search by a K-9 unit.

They reportedly found 54 pounds of marijuana.

The driver, from Pennsylvania, was arrested and booked into the Potter County Detention Center.
