NM AG Could Investigate Gas Price Fluctuation

A New Mexico House bill just approved today allows the Attorney General to investigate big swings in gas prices.

The measure allocates $50,000 for Attorney General Gary King's office to conduct the study.

The money apparently comes from court-ordered settlements of consumer cases.

Supporters of the bill hope the study will ease public concern about fluctuating gas prices while opponents say the studies are useless.  The bill is now on its way to the Senate.
