What was once proposed as the world's largest wind farm now seems to be scaling back.
This week 120 landowners around Pampa began receiving letters from Mesa Power Group, the wind energy company run by T. Boone Pickens, saying their leases are being terminated.
Mesa did renew 77 leases north of Pampa and west of Miami, a much smaller region than proposed.
It originally spanned as many as five counties.
They say they will still build a wind farm capable of powering three thousand homes.
