WTAMU Asks Students not to Spring Break in Mexico

Amarillo,TX - West Texas A and M University President J.Patrick O'Brien wrote a memo asking students to please be aware of the continued violence in Mexico this Spring Break.

Students are being asked to "Know Before You Go"  The State Department Travel Alert Specifically speaks of large violence and the fact that U.S.Citizens have been trapped and temporarily prevented from leaving the area, mentioning Matamoras by name.

A campus wide e-mail was also sent out this week and the memo is posted on the university's web site.
