For the Leal campaign the election night was a disappointment.
Amarillo attorney Four Price won the Republican primary for District 87 Representative.
Supporters packed Price's house last night watching his ten percent victory over opponent Victor Leal.
Price says the contributions he received locally were significant, "Well I think the support we received locally and in this area speaks volumes about the energy behind our campaign. It's not surprising that we have votes backing up the contributions and I think that's significant."
Representative John Smithee came to the victory celebration to offer his congratulations, "We had two outstanding candidates in this race and I think either one of them would have done a super job. And you know four has a good temperament and he has a hard work ethic and he's really as honest as you can be."
Price will face Democrat Abel Bosquez and Libertarian James Hudspeth in the general election.
