AMARILLO, TX- New proof out Tuesday shows hunger is much more widespread on the High Plains than previously thought.
A study by the Food Bank shows that they've gone from serving about 5,000 people a week in 2005 to around 9600 today- that's a 92 percent increase.
The survey breaks the needy down by category. Only eight percent are homeless, and six percent are elderly. On the flip side, 51 percent of needy families have at least one person working full time.
