CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. (AP) - Space shuttle Atlantis looks to be headed for an on-time landing.
It was chilly but clear at NASA's touchdown site in Florida early Friday.
Mission Control told the seven astronauts that no one could remember such clear landing conditions. The temperature was in the 50s before sunrise, and the stars were out.
Landing is scheduled for 9:44 a.m.
Atlantis and its crew spent a week at the International Space Station delivering big spare parts.
Returning to Earth is former station resident Nicole Stott. Stott says she can't wait to see her family and eat some pizza after three months in orbit.
Astronaut Randolph Bresnik is eager to hold his baby daughter for the first time. She was born last weekend.
