GROOM, TEXAS - Two students are saying their school district's dress code is too tough after they were turned away on their first day back in class.
The school does not allow boy's hair to go past their ears or students to have "extreme colors or cuts."
One high school junior was turned away for having a blonde highlight in his brown hair. And an elementary school student was turned away because his hair was too long.
The superintendent declined to comment because as he says, "this is a negative issue."
The families will go before the school board to try to get the policy changed on September 8.
