Amarillo Police Have Problem with Ghost Hunters

Posted: Updated:

An urban legend that has been passed down for generations in Amarillo, is now severely wasting police resources.

For the month of July alone, 14 people were arrested or detained for trespassing at a school.

It's the abandoned Summit Elementary School and for years there's been a believe that it's haunted.

Police say their crews have investigated the site many times and there are no ghosts at the school.

And they want people to stop trespassing.

The building is currently owned by San Jacinto Christian Academy.

If you are caught you could face up to felony burglary charges.
