Forget all the talk about hybrid cars, one Amarillo inventor has created the tri-hybrid vehicle.
Jay Perdue has created a machine that runs on gas, electricity, and by pedalling. He got the idea by combining fuel efficiency with exercise. You don't have to pedal to move, but it is an option.
Perdue just finished a trip from Tennessee to Amarillo, and he took the machine on the interstate and other highways most of the way.
It can reach speeds of 60 miles per hour, and Perdue says that it averaged about 50 on his trip.
The machine will be displayed at Westgate Mall throughout December.
