More resources are being put toward catching people enticing children online or engaging in child pornography.

Under the new law... The Department of Justice will now be more involved in helping smaller agencies conduct investigations and prosecute offenders of these type of crimes.

Sgt. Brent Barbee with APD says, "We always find that every time we have a database that is accessible by several agencies at several levels, it's always good to be able to share information quickly."

Officials say more than 11 thousand residents wrote in... Asking Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison to help get the bill passed.

Senator Hutchison co-sponsored the National Strategy for Child Exploitation Prevention and Interdiction Law.
