Snow Causes Widespread Power Outages

Amarillo, Texas - The snowy weather continues to cause a lot of power outages throughout the Amarillo area.

Xcel Energy says around 5,000 customers are without power right now and it's not expected to come back on for at least the next few hours.

The heavy, wet snow is causing tree branches to bend and break... Falling on power lines, knocking them down.

Xcel crews from Lubbock are headed this way to help local crews get the power back on as quickly as possible.
