Clovis, New Mexico - Airmen at Cannon Air Force Base could get kicked out of the military for shopping at certain stores around Clovis.
We're talking about smoke shops... Three of them in particular that made the black list, written by the base's commander.
The issue lies with herbal products that are designed to be used an incense, but often are used to get high... That would be spice, salvia and pep.
They all make you feel like you're hallucinating. 27th Special Operations Wing Commander Col. Stephen A. Clark says, "It is my job as commander to make sure every single one of those airmen are ready to go at any time of day, 365 days a year, whenever the nation calls. There is no off duty. There is no on duty. They have to be ready to go at any time. They are always on call."
As of July 13, the Airmen are forbidden from going into the smoke shack, the smoke shack too, or up in smoke.
They also cannot use any products from those stores that someone else bought. Colonel Clark says the use of those products is becoming an increasing problem on the base, so to make things more cut and dry, he issued the order forbidding it.
He says punishment will be taken care of on a case by case basis, but it could range from loss of security clearance to demotion to discharge from the Air Force.
