Amarillo, Texas - Pro-life supporters are kicking off what they call their "40 days for life campaign."
Thursday at Sanborn park supporters heard music and feasted on hot dogs before hearing a number of speakers. They believe abortion harms families and communities. Pastor Walter Hoye says, "It's important that we understand abortion is about killing a baby. And if you respect human life you're not going to be in favor of killing an innocent child."
Pastor Hoye was arrested in Oakland, California for protesting in front of an abortion clinic.
The 40 days campaign will focus on vigils at what they call "abortion minded facilities" and grassroots educational outreach.
Sanborn park is located across the street from Texas Panhandle Family Planning and Health Centers.
