Fallen Soldiers Portraits

Posted: Updated:

More than 75 military families gathered in Amarillo on Friday to commemorate the ultimate sacrifice their loved ones made to fight for our country.

The American Fallen Soldiers Project honored eight of those families with a portrait of their soldier.

Artist phil taylor says the goal is to help them cope with their loss.

"With spending that much time and everything you have, your heart, your physical talent and try to pour it into a canvas to try to bring that soldier alive so you can feel him...they remain forever sketched in my soul, " he said.

So far, Taylor has hand delivered 51 portraits to military families all across the country.
