Amarillo Public Library announces Tx Panhandle native for spring AMARILLO READS event

AMARILLO, TX (KFDA) - The Amarillo Public Library will host an award-winning Texas Panhandle native and author as their spring selection for AMARILLO READS.

2015 National Teacher of the Year Shanna Peeples’ book Think Like Socrates: Using Questions to Invite Wonder and Empathy Into the Classroom was selected for the Amarillo Public Library’s AMARILLO READS spring selection.

Think Like Socrates is written specifically for teachers, but we think it’s beautifully written and has relevance for scout troop leaders, Sunday school teachers and anyone who works with kids or has an interest in education,” said Library PR Coordinator Stacy Clopton Yates.

The Spring AMARILLO READS event will kick off on Monday with ‘An Evening with Shanna Peeples', a public conversation followed by a reception and book signing.

The event is free to the public and will take on March 18 at 6:00 p.m. at the Amarillo Globe-News Center.
