Man arrested after Amarillo investigators recover stolen property

AMARILLO, TX (KFDA) - A man has been arrested after investigators with the Panhandle Auto Burglary and Theft Unit recovered $8,4000 worth of stolen property.

On Feb. 28, a trailer loaded with over $5,000 worth of appliances was reported stolen from the Westgate Mall parking lot.

PABTU investigators recognized the vehicle after reviewing security footage, saying the trailer had been reported stolen and recovered two days earlier.

Surveillance was conducted on March 7 in the 100 block of South Bowyer, where investigators found the trailer and jeep from mall surveillance in a driveway.

A search warrant was drafted for the residence and was cleared by APD SWAT.

PABTU, DPS and APD conducted the search and found stolen property that was reported on Dec. 30 at Amarillo Construction, along with two shotguns and methamphetamine.

The recovered property was valued at $5,400 and the trailer valued at $3,000.

Jesse Pacheco was arrested and booked into Potter County Jail.
