Amarillo VA breaks ground on new addition

AMARILLO, TX (KFDA) - The Amarillo VA Healthcare system broke ground on a new addition to the Thomas E. Creek VA Medical Center Community Living Center during a ceremony on Tuesday afternoon.

The new $9.8 million addition will add ten single resident rooms and 12,000 square feet to the CLC.

“Right now, we have ten rooms but only two are private,” said Welcome Home Unity CNA Maria Urbieta. “The other eight are shared and to be able to have that private space for our veterans, I think that’s always a plus.”

Upon completion of the new addition, the Amarillo VA Healthcare System can begin renovations to the existing CLC structure to convert existing spaces into single resident rooms.
