Rapidly Changing Weather

Moisture chances are returning to the forecast area starting late tonight and mainly the overnight hours into Saturday morning. Showers and even embedded thunderstorms will be possible, some wet snow may mix in although the greatest snowfall chance will be across the Northern areas. As we move into Saturday morning, the rain will be leaving however wrap around snow will still be possible across the Northern zones until about noon.

A BLIZZARD WARNING is in effect for SW KS, they will likely see the worst of the winter weather in our area. Blowing snow and hazardous driving will likely be a problem in these spots. Besides the moisture chances, the big story will be the strong NW winds. A HIGH WIND WARNING is in effect for the entire area, winds 30-40 with gusts over 60mph possible. Temps will be in the 30s & 40s with 50s further South however wind chill values will remain in the teens and 20s all day.
