AMARILLO, TX (KFDA) - The Amarillo Sod Poodles are giving performers from around the area the chance to become part of their game day traditions.

The team is holding auditions for its game day entertainment slots on Feb. 23 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Gilvin Broadcast Center at Amarillo College.

The team will hold auditions for National Anthem performers, on-field emcees, public address announcers and mascots.

Vocal performers can audition for either “The Star-Spangled Banner" or “God Bless America" and can choose to audition in a solo, duo, trio or quartet grouping.

Performers must audition a cappella or with a personal instrument accompaniment. Traditional arrangements of these songs are required.

Several vocal performers will be chosen, however two winners will be chosen to perform on either opening night or Independence Day.

Auditions for public address announcer, on-field emcee and mascot will be held concurrently with vocal performance auditions.

Candidates will be provided with instructions and materials for their audition upon checking in.

Those auditioning for a mascot position must be between 5′8″ and 5′10″.

Audition times can be requested by emailing Sierra Todd at SierraT@SodPoodles.com, with the desired position in the subject line.

Walk-up auditions will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis.
