MOORE COUNTY, TX (KFDA) - The Moore County Sheriff’s Office is alerting residents of a scam circulating the area.

Officials say a scammer is calling residents and telling them there is a warrant for their arrest. The caller then demands payment and says the resident will be arrested immediately if they do not make a payment.

The Moore County Sheriff’s Office wants to remind residents they will never call and ask for a payment over the phone.

Recently the Moore County Sheriff's Office has been recieving reports about a subject calling them and telling them they have a warrant for their arrest. The suspect demands payment and tell people they will be arrested immediately if they don't make a payment. We want to remind people that you will never be called and asked for a payment over the phone. If you have fallen victim to this scam, contact the Moore County Sheriff's Office immediately.
