CANADIAN, TX (KFDA) - Members of the Canadian community have banded together to sell shirts honoring Thomas Brown, with all proceeds benefiting the Thomas Brown Scholarship Fund.
A group on Facebook called Moms4Tom posted about the t-shirt fundraiser, celebrating the life of Brown who went missing in November of 2016.
The shirts, designed with ‘Never Forgotten’ on the back and Thomas’ initials on the front, will be sold for $20. All proceeds will benefit the Thomas Brown Scholarship Fund.
The scholarship aims to thank the community for not giving up the effort to uncover the truth behind Thomas’ disappearance.
Sizes range from small to 4X and colors include navy, olive, black and more.
Anyone interested in purchasing a shirt can call Canadian Printing & Design at (806) 323-5263, or comment on Moms4Tom’s Facebook page.
Brown’s body was found in Hemphill County on January 9 after a man walking down a path near Lake Marvin Road noticed something and called authorities immediately.
On January 15, forensic testing confirmed it to be Brown.
“We gather here because Thomas is home,” said Reverend Sydne Allen. “Not to the place we hoped for, not the way we wanted, but gone to the place where hope springs eternally."
His mother, Penny Meek, believes he’s still touching lives and says he’s in a better place. She recently wrote a poem about her son and posted it on Facebook.
The Texas Attorney General’s Office is still investigating the case.
