1 person arrested for auto burglaries on SW 24th Avenue

AMARILLO, TX (KFDA) - One person has been arrested for auto burglaries on the 100 block of SW 24th Avenue early this morning.

Around 3:00 a.m., police were called to the 100 block of SW 24th Avenue on a report of vandalism to a vehicle. A window had been broken out of a 2018 Dodge Ram truck.

Police say the officer then found several items that had been dropped at the scene that did not belong to the resident.

Officers then searched the area and found 49-year-old Tina Rachell Mims in the 2200 block of South Tyler Street looking into the open trunk of a Ford Mustang.

Police say they located four other vehicles in the area that had been broken into.

Mims was arrested and booked into the Potter County Detention Center for burglary of a vehicle, criminal mischief greater than or equal to $100 but less than $750 and four local municipal warrants.
