Amarillo event promotes health advocacy for Panhandle women

AMARILLO, TX (KFDA) - The Laura W. Bush Institute for Women’s Health has a stated goal of improving the lives of women and girls in Texas and across the nation by advancing multidisciplinary science in women’s health.

This evening, the organization is hosting an event titled Day of the Woman.

Speakers will include Paul Proffer, MD, a local plastic surgeon specializing in cosmetic and reconstructive procedures of the face and neck, and Leanne Young, PhD, executive director of the Brain Performance Institute of the Center for Brain Health.

The event is $10 per person and will include dinner and door prizes.

Registration begins at 5:30 pm at Polk Street United Methodist Church.
