Sod Poodle trademark matter between Panhandle Baseball Club and Stone Ranch Media settled

AMARILLO, TX (KFDA) - The Panhandle Baseball Club and Stone Ranch Media released a joint statement on Friday, announcing that the Sod Poodles trademark matter is settled.

This agreement comes after Stone Ranch Media filed for the Amarillo Sod Poodles trademark on June 2, resulting in the Amarillo Sod Poodle baseball team not legally owning the name to use on things like t-shirts and caps.

According to the statement made on February 1, everyone involved is satisfied with the agreement and closure.

To ensure the Panhandle community is the ultimate beneficiary, the Sod Poodles will split a donation of $5,000 to different charities in the area, which includes the Amarillo Activity Youth Center, Donley County Community Fund and the Downtown Women’s Center.

The Amarillo Sod Poodles will host their inaugural home opener on April 8 at Hodgetown against the Midland RockHounds. The first pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
