2 dead after head-on collision in Ochiltree County

OCHILTREE CO., TX (KFDA) - Two people are dead after a head-on collision in Ochiltree County on Monday afternoon.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, 55-year-old Martha Guzman of Perryton was traveling north on SH-70, ten miles south of Perryton, when officials said she crossed over the center stripe into the southbound lane.

Guzman’s vehicle crashed head-on into a vehicle driven by 50-year-old Danny Motley of Florence, Alabama. 29-year-old Hank Casteel and 33-year-old Jason Burbank, both of Florence, Alabama, were also in Guzman’s vehicle.

Guzman died on scene and Casteel was taken to Amarillo Northwest Texas Hospital where he later died of his injuries.

Motley, in stable condition, and Burbank, in critical condition, were both taken to Ochiltree General Hospital to be treated for their injuries.

Everyone involved in the wreck were reported to be wearing their seat belts.

Officials said the crash remains under investigation.
