AMARILLO, TX (KFDA) - Six Car Pub and Brewery is the newest partner for the “Coming Home” program and donating to the program won’t cost you anything.

From January 24 through the 27, Six Car Pub & Brewery is donating $1 to the “Coming Home” program for every person who visits.

The program started last December and Six Car Pub’s partnership aims to get 25 members of the homeless community back on their feet.

“That’s what we’re trying to do is just get the word out about a solution to a persistent problem that needs to be addressed,” said Six Car Pub & Brewery Part-Owner and Operations Manager Colin Cummings. “We’re trying to give people a fun and easy way to make an impact. We are the conduit for that impact and all it really takes is for you to show up.”

Along with providing housing, the homeless will receive additional help with medical care and employment.

“We have two social workers that work on the team and they do in depth case management with all the clients,” said City of Amarillo Homeless Management Information Specialist Amy Dixon. “We’re taking our vulnerable homeless from the streets, putting them into a home, [which is] something that some of them haven’t had for three years or more. We have some people who have been on the streets for 26 years.”

You can find more information about how you can contribute to this program at the Six Car Pub & Brewery website.
