AMARILLO, TX (KFDA) - West Texas A&M Men’s and Women’s Basketball hosted Tarleton State for a Lone Star Conference matchup on Saturday afternoon.
The Lady Buffs played first, and trailed 42-26 after the first half. A second half comeback led by Delaney Nix (19 points) and Lexy Hightower (15 points) fell short of the win. The TexAnns got the win with a final score of 72-65.
The Buffs followed, also falling behind early on. They turned it around behind a breakout game from freshman Joel Murray, who tied his career record with 20 points. This is West Texas A&M’s 18th straight home win.
Both teams will hit the road for a rivalry game against Eastern New Mexico on January 22nd.
