AMARILLO, TX (KFDA) - Martin Luther King Jr. Day is Monday, and area residents are invited to head downtown for a march in Dr. King’s honor.
The Amarillo Branch NAACP is hosting its annual Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day March, gathering at 10 a.m at Martin Luther King Jr. Park on 1501 W. Amarillo Blvd.
The march, itself, will begin at 11:30 and end at the Potter County Courthouse at noon where there will be a program honoring the life and work of Dr. King.
Reverend Nell Newton will be the keynote speaker with additional remarks from Amy Taylor, Melodie Graves, and NAACP Amarillo Branch President Floyd Anthony,
and a musical performance by Devlon Jones.
