We are in First Alert weather mode as our winter storm approaches. The cold air component of our winter weather system arrived today with temperatures only in the 30s and a chilly north wind. The upper level system will begin moving into our region tomorrow with pockets of sleet and perhaps a freezing rain shower. It looks like most of the precipitation will hold off until tomorrow night when a few inches of snow may accumulate by Saturday morning. However the latest trends indicate that the heaviest snow could be over the Southern Panhandle and that Amarillo could see less snow overall.
