AMARILLO, TX (KFDA) - Amarillo officials have opened up Hollywood Road after a hazmat situation on Friday morning.
At 11:11 a.m., the Amarillo Fire Department arrived at the Potter-Randall Appraisal District in the 5700 block of Hollywood Road after employees inside the building reported they heard an explosion.
Upon arrival, crews found smoke inside the building as well as high levels of hydrogen sulfide, commonly found in sewers, on monitoring equipment.
Unable to find the source of the gas, AFD’s Hazardous Materials team was called to the scene to monitor the building.
The HazMat Team was unable to find the cause of the explosion or the source of the gas, so the building was ventilated until it was clear of any danger.
No injuries were reported and employees were able to return inside.
